Maintenance Electrician

About the role

Navantia UK is looking for a qualified Maintenance Electrician to join its newly acquired facilities across the UK. You will work on a variety of naval and industrial assets, ensuring electrical systems operate safely and reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Perform fault finding and corrective actions on motors, generators, controllers, switchboards and DC systems.
• Carry out reactive maintenance on mobile plant, including road vehicles, forklift trucks, mobile cranes, dockside & gantry cranes, cherry pickers and scissor lifts.
• Execute planned maintenance tasks and complete inspection records in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
• Read and interpret electrical and electronic circuit diagrams and schematics.
• Install, test and maintain electromechanical and electronic components on machinery and equipment.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical legislation, RAMS, SSOW, permits and LOTO procedures.
• Participate in high‑voltage switching activities and maintain high‑voltage awareness.

Required profile

• Qualified electrician with industrial/maintenance experience.
• Holder of a 17th/18th Edition qualification (or willing to obtain).
• Experience working to a periodic planned maintenance system.
• Ability to work safely at height and in confined spaces (training required).
