Maintenance Engineer – Days

About the role

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join a leading privately‑owned food processor in Glasgow. The role works the day shift, Monday to Friday, and focuses on maintaining equipment performance and minimizing downtime across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and improve equipment OEE by carrying out planned and reactive maintenance.
• Record, log and resolve maintenance requests and breakdowns promptly.
• Report progress to Engineering Management and follow up on scheduled work plans and start‑up checks.
• Execute special projects assigned by Engineering Management.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and food safety legislation.
• Liaise with production teams to support customer delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum ONC/NVQ qualification in an engineering discipline; 18th edition qualification is advantageous.
• Apprenticeship or equivalent formal training in installation and maintenance with practical experience.
• Proven experience with packing machinery, especially Proseal, Mondini and Multivac equipment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to take direction and provide professional feedback.
