Maintenance Engineer – Excellent Work‑Life Balance

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position is based in a factory in Ilminster and offers a unique work‑life balance with no on‑call duties. You will join a small, close‑knit maintenance team and continue to develop your technical expertise through structured training.

Key responsibilities

• Perform reliability maintenance (RM) and planned preventive maintenance (PPM) across the manufacturing site.
• Work alongside five other maintenance engineers to keep plant equipment running efficiently.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs on production machinery.
• Follow a rotating shift pattern: Week 1 – Wednesday to Saturday 6:30 am‑6:30 pm; Week 2 – Thursday to Saturday 6:30 am‑6:30 pm (average 40.25 hrs/week).

• Proven background in maintenance engineering with a solid engineering understanding.
• Motivation to work within a small, collaborative maintenance team.
• Desire for a stable, days‑based role with excellent family time.
