Maintenance Engineer – Manufacturing Plant

About the role

This is a permanent, full‑time position in a well‑established manufacturing facility in Weymouth. The Maintenance Engineer will join a small engineering team responsible for keeping highly automated production and packaging equipment running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on specialist production and packaging machinery.
• Perform corrective maintenance and breakdown repairs to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose and resolve faults in drives, sensors, relays and PLC control systems.
• Support the engineering team in improving plant reliability and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow health & safety procedures.

Required profile

• Proven maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., electrical or mechanical).
• Ability to work hands‑on with a variety of industrial equipment.
• Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Electrical engineering knowledge.
• Experience with PLC‑controlled machinery.
• Familiarity with printing machines, presses, strapping lines, laminators and packaging equipment.
• Understanding of drives, sensors, relays and electrical control components.
