Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical / Hydraulic)

About the role

Join a specialist engineering company in Middlesbrough that designs and supplies industrial vacuum and environmental equipment. As a Maintenance Engineer you will work in a well‑equipped workshop, supporting critical sectors such as petrochemical, agricultural and food processing.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair vacuum systems, high‑vacuum pumps and related equipment.
• Carry out mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical maintenance on HGVs, pressure washers and workshop machinery.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Document work performed and maintain accurate service records.
• Occasionally travel to customer sites for on‑site support.

Required profile

• Experience working on HGVs or similar heavy‑vehicle equipment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Commitment to health and safety standards in an engineering environment.
