Maintenance Engineer – Multi‑skilled (Electrical/Mechanical)

About the role

We are seeking a multi‑skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a small shift‑engineer team at a modern food manufacturing plant in Poole, South West England. The role involves providing both reactive and proactive engineering support to keep plant, equipment and auxiliary systems running efficiently across 12‑hour day and night Panama shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver planned engineering tasks on time and to full completion.
• Perform reactive maintenance to minimise downtime and support production targets.
• Maintain accurate records in the CMMS and complete planned maintenance documentation.
• Follow good repair, manufacturing practices and safety procedures.
• Collaborate closely with production staff to achieve daily output goals.
• Identify and contribute to cost‑reduction and process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified maintenance engineer with C&G’s or NVQ Level 3 (or ONC/HNC) qualification.
• Apprenticeship‑trained with a proactive attitude to problem solving.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Ability to work both day and night 12‑hour Panama shifts.
