Maintenance Engineer – REME/Ex-Forces – £40k-£48k

About the role

This permanent position is for a Maintenance Engineer with a REME or ex‑forces background, based in Knighton, Wales. You will join a leading food‑product manufacturing company and work on a 12‑hour rotating shift pattern, supporting both day and night operations.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out reactive maintenance to resolve unexpected equipment failures.
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and extend asset life.
• Support a busy production/manufacturing environment with mechanical and electrical tasks.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Required profile

• Previous maintenance experience in a production or manufacturing setting.
• Background in REME or ex‑forces considered an advantage.
• Ability to work the 4 × 12 hr day, 4 × 12 hr night, 4 days off shift pattern.
• Live within commuting distance to Knighton.
