Maintenance Manager

About the role

This is a high‑visibility leadership position within a fast‑growing FMCG manufacturing business undergoing a major transformation. You will own the site’s engineering maintenance function, driving a shift from reactive firefighting to a proactive, data‑driven maintenance culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all engineering maintenance activities to maximise equipment uptime and efficiency.
• Develop and embed robust planned preventative maintenance strategies.
• Analyse performance data, KPIs and downtime trends to drive continuous improvement.
• Build structured planning, scheduling and reporting processes.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality and regulatory standards.
• Manage budgets, spare parts and engineering resources effectively.
• Lead, coach and develop a multi‑skilled engineering team.
• Support major capital projects, automation initiatives and operational improvements.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in FMCG or high‑volume manufacturing.
• Strong background in maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to implement preventative maintenance strategies and data‑led decision making.
• Experience analysing performance data and translating insights into action.
• Track record of leading and developing engineering teams.
• Solid knowledge of health & safety, compliance and quality standards.
• Experience managing budgets, resources and performance metrics.
