Maintenance Officer – Care Home Facility

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Officer to keep Queens View Harbour Care Home safe, well‑maintained and fully operational. This hands‑on role supports the Home Manager and wider team in delivering a comfortable environment for up to 56 residents.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections of building fabric, plant and equipment.
• Perform general repairs including plumbing, carpentry and electrical tasks.
• Install, test and maintain heating, ventilation, lighting and other systems.
• Coordinate external contractors and manage maintenance planning.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and record keeping requirements.
• Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues to minimise disruption.

Required profile

• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
• Good knowledge of general repairs, electrical and building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Proactive, practical and reliable with strong problem‑solving skills.
