Maintenance Operative – Fire Door Inspections

About the role

We are seeking a Maintenance Operative to carry out fire door inspections across a portfolio of residential developments in London and surrounding areas. The role combines field work with digital reporting, offering autonomy and the chance to develop specialist fire‑safety expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct fire door inspections on residential sites to ensure compliance with fire safety legislation.
• Visit multiple sites each week, liaising with building managers, contractors and residents.
• Record findings and produce digital reports from home or the office.
• Identify maintenance and compliance issues and communicate them to the relevant parties.

Required profile

• Experience in property or building maintenance, facilities management, construction, compliance or fire safety.
• Practical, hands‑on approach with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
• Professional communication and a positive, learning‑oriented attitude.
• Full UK driving licence.
