Maintenance Operative

About the role

We are looking for a reliable and proactive Maintenance Operative to keep our distinctive care property and its grounds in excellent condition. The role involves a mix of hands‑on repairs, routine inspections and supporting a safe, therapeutic environment for residents and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, basic electrical work, carpentry and decorating.
• Maintain outdoor areas and gardens to ensure a calm and therapeutic setting.
• Conduct routine inspections and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and residents.
• Coordinate with external contractors when specialised work is required.
• Support the upkeep of communal areas and shared spaces.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role.
• Practical skills across a range of trades.
• Good knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Reliable, organised and proactive.
• Comfortable working in a care environment and interacting respectfully with residents and staff.
