Maintenance Operative – Part‑Time (Leeds)

About the role

We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic Maintenance Operative to join our award‑winning team at Aire View Care Home in Leeds. In this part‑time role you will keep the building and its grounds in excellent condition, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our residents.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance tasks and basic repairs, including electrical, plumbing, joinery and building work both inside and outside the home.
• Support new residents by arranging their rooms to their preferences.
• Perform routine re‑decoration to maintain high standards.
• Advise on and order replacement goods, ensuring timely supply of quality items.
• Provide out‑of‑hours emergency service and participate in the on‑call rota.

Required profile

• At least one year of experience in a general maintenance or handyman role, or a professional trade qualification.
• Full driving licence.
• Knowledge of health and safety, moving and handling, fire safety and COSHH assessments.
• Flexible and adaptable, able to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
