Maintenance Operative – Westbourne Tower Care Home

About the role
The Maintenance Operative will ensure that the Westbourne Tower Care Home and its surrounding grounds are kept in excellent condition. You will carry out routine maintenance, perform basic repairs, and support the smooth operation of the facility for residents and staff.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out general maintenance tasks and basic repairs, including electrical, plumbing, joinery and building work both inside and outside the home.
- Assist new residents in arranging their rooms to their preferences.
- Undertake routine re‑decoration to maintain standards throughout the home.
- Advise on the supply and quality of items used for maintenance and ensure timely ordering of replacements.
- Provide out‑of‑hours emergency service and participate in the on‑call rota.
Required profile
- Live the values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful and accountable.
- Minimum one year experience in a general maintenance or handyman role, or hold a professional trade qualification.
- Full driving licence.
- Knowledge of health and safety, moving and handling techniques, fire safety and COSHH assessments.
- Adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
