Maintenance Shift Leader

About the role

Greencore is seeking a Maintenance Shift Leader to oversee the engineering team on a 4‑on/4‑off day‑night roster at its Leeds facility. You will be responsible for keeping production running smoothly by maximising machinery uptime and ensuring a safe working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and prioritise the shift workload to meet production targets.
• Execute the preventive maintenance schedule to minimise downtime.
• Ensure all plant and equipment comply with legislation and safety standards.
• Produce accurate documentation and reports within required timeframes.
• Manage permits to work and guarantee safe practices for contractors and staff.
• Lead the engineering team, fostering a high‑performing culture.
• Maintain good manufacturing practices and food‑safety compliance.

Required profile

• Experience operating as an engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Completed accredited apprenticeship or equivalent Level 3 qualification with an electrical focus.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing machinery and processes.
• People‑management or supervisory experience.
