Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Maintenance Technician to join our friendly maintenance team in a manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for keeping a wide range of machinery running smoothly while supporting the build of bespoke welding machines and site improvement projects.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs.
• Maintain a variety of equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, furnaces and wire‑making lines.
• Assist with the mechanical assembly of custom welding machines.
• Help manage the site maintenance schedule to minimise downtime.
• Identify and implement improvements to machinery and processes.
• Collaborate closely with maintenance and production teams.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing or engineering.
• Experience with manual or CNC machine tools such as lathes, mills and grinders.
• Familiarity with production machinery or furnaces is advantageous.
• Hands‑on approach with solid problem‑solving abilities.
• Mechanical engineering apprenticeship or Level 3 NVQ/City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).

Required skills

• CNC and manual machine tool operation.
• Preventative maintenance and reactive repair techniques.
• Mechanical assembly of welding equipment.
• Furnace and wire‑making line maintenance.
