Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Maintenance Technician will support Greystar’s resident experience by delivering high‑standard repairs, routine maintenance and statutory compliance across residential properties. Working closely with the Community and Estates Management teams, the role involves both planned and emergency tasks to keep buildings, grounds and equipment in optimal condition.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day repairs and maintenance including plumbing, joinery, carpentry, painting, decorating and lighting.
• Use the electronic maintenance reporting system (Onesite) to log, track and update work orders, communicating status to residents.
• Inspect communal areas, gardens and grounds regularly, ensuring cleanliness, safety and compliance with waste‑recycling standards.
• Coordinate and supervise external contractors, monitor their performance, and maintain records of permits, RAMS and statutory testing.
• Carry out statutory testing such as annual PAT testing, emergency lighting inspections, fire alarm tests and fire evacuations.

Required profile

• GCSE/O‑Level level education with solid written and numerical skills.
• Recognised trade qualification (e.g., Building Crafts Operative Certificate, City & Guilds or NVQ) in a relevant field such as plumbing or electrical.
• Experience in residential maintenance or construction trades (plumber, electrician, carpenter) and familiarity with hot/cold water systems, sanitary appliances, drainage, electrical and fire safety systems.
• Strong communication skills, friendly and professional attitude towards residents and colleagues.
