Maintenance Technician

About the role

Artifex Interior Systems is seeking a multi‑skilled Maintenance Technician to join its fast‑paced manufacturing plant. The role involves 12‑hour rotating shifts, both day and night, supporting injection moulding machinery, automation and ancillary equipment to keep production running safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine, preventative and unplanned maintenance across the plant.
• Fault finding, repair and maintenance of injection moulding machines ranging from 60 to 2700 tonnes.
• Support laser cells, PU cells, assembly equipment and automated production systems.
• Assist with machine set‑up, adjustments and planned servicing.
• Participate in plant start‑up and shutdown procedures as part of a weekend rota.
• Contribute to installation projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Proactively raise health and safety concerns to maintain a safe working environment.

Required profile

• Qualified engineer with a recognised Mechanical or Electrical Engineering apprenticeship.
• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC, ONC or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical knowledge.
• Ability to read technical drawings and electrical diagrams.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably with automation and assembly equipment.
• Problem‑solving mindset, works well under pressure and can handle competing priorities.
• Self‑motivated, safety‑conscious and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
