Maintenance Technician

About the role

Motive Offshore Group, a provider of equipment rental, manufacturing and testing, inspection and certification services in the energy industry, is looking for a Maintenance Technician in Boyndie, Banff. The role covers the maintenance, repair and upkeep of machinery, vehicles, tooling and building infrastructure in the manufacturing facility, in line with site procedures and health and safety rules. It is a varied, hands-on position within the Manufacturing team, supported by a Mechanical Chargehand and a team of technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance, repair and upkeep of equipment, machinery and building infrastructure, including scheduled preventive and emergency maintenance
• Manage equipment testing to ensure timely calibration and replacement
• Document all maintenance work and define work method statements, risk assessments and preventative maintenance programmes
• Read and interpret technical drawings and communicate the technical requirements of tasks
• Operate machinery, hand tools and lifting equipment safely and provide operatives with the right tools, instructions and technical data
• Work with contractors and vendors on specialised maintenance or repair
• Follow HSEQ policy and procedures, report accidents, incidents, near misses and environmental concerns, and support Net Zero sustainability initiatives

Required profile

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician (mechanical bias), handyman or in a similar role
• Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and other relevant trades preferred
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints and schematics
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Able to lift up to 25 kg, work at height and in confined spaces
• Coaching and leadership skills, attention to detail, good judgement and teamwork
