Major & Complex Loss Adjuster (Property)

About the role

We are partnering with a leading global loss adjusting practice to recruit a Major & Complex Loss Adjuster. This senior, field‑based position manages high‑value commercial and domestic property claims, ranging from £250,000 to multi‑million‑pound exposures, across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of major and complex property losses from first notification through to final settlement.
• Lead investigations into cause, origin, and extent of damage, coordinating multi‑disciplinary expert input.
• Oversee large‑scale site inspections of commercial premises, industrial facilities, residential blocks and specialist risks.
• Analyse complex policy wordings, endorsements, aggregation and sub‑rogation considerations.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, reserving recommendations and insurer updates.
• Coordinate a network of specialists including forensic accountants, structural engineers, fire investigators and environmental consultants.
• Drive quantum evaluation, scope validation and reinstatement strategy for significant property losses.
• Lead negotiations with insureds, brokers, loss funders and corporate stakeholders to achieve commercially sound settlements.
• Support business interruption calculations, litigation and arbitration processes as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in property loss adjusting or a related insurance role.
• Proven ability to manage high‑value, technically demanding claims end‑to‑end.
• Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting complex policy wording.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with insurers, brokers and claimants.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
