Major Loss Claims Handler – Catastrophic Injury

About the role

We are seeking experienced Major Loss Claims Handlers to manage catastrophic injury claims for our growing large‑loss team. The role is based in Leicester with hybrid flexibility across London or Bexhill, and offers the chance to work within a technically strong, fast‑moving insurance environment.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively manage a portfolio of high‑value, complex injury claims with a financial handling authority of at least £3 million.
• Drive early and efficient resolution by liaising with customers, insurers, legal and medical professionals while meeting SLA targets.
• Provide coaching, mentoring and training to wider claims teams and act as a technical referral point.
• Conduct technical audits and record findings to enhance claims handling expertise.
• Escalate claims that exceed authority limits in line with the referral process.

Required profile

• Demonstrable experience handling high‑value, complex injury claims.
• Authority to manage claims up to £3 million and ability to adhere to SLA commitments.
• Strong communication skills for engaging with multiple stakeholders including legal and medical experts.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop junior colleagues.
