Major Projects Team Lead – Building Services

About the role

We are seeking a Major Projects Team Lead to join our Building Services Design team, overseeing MEP design for large‑scale construction projects. The role combines technical leadership, client liaison and team management to deliver sustainable, compliant and cost‑effective solutions from concept to construction.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head of Service in business management and coordinate mechanical, electrical and plumbing design across major new builds, refurbishments and minor works.
• Develop and maintain strategic client relationships, manage team utilisation and meet monthly/annual performance targets.
• Oversee design quality, ensure compliance with industry standards and lead multi‑disciplinary coordination with other Kier teams.
• Drive business development activities, including bid preparation, fee proposals and client presentations.
• Maintain a programme of CPD events to keep the team’s competence up to date.

Required profile

• Chartered Engineer and member of CIBSE or IET with a degree in Mechanical Building Services or Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience leading multi‑disciplinary engineering teams on complex projects.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a broader business audience.
• Eligibility to pass the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
