Major/Complex Liability Adjuster

About the role

We are partnering with one of the UK’s largest independently owned loss adjusting firms to recruit an experienced Major/Complex Liability Adjuster. You will manage high‑value Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims from investigation through to settlement, working in a collaborative hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of complex, high‑value claims from notification to settlement.
• Lead detailed investigations into liability, quantum and policy coverage.
• Set, review and manage reserves in line with exposure.
• Develop claim strategies to achieve cost‑effective outcomes.
• Handle litigated claims, liaising with solicitors, experts and insurers.
• Identify and investigate potentially fraudulent or exaggerated claims.
• Negotiate settlements and maintain accurate, compliant records.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling complex or major liability claims.
• Strong technical knowledge of liability law, quantum and relevant case law.
• Experience managing reserves and claim strategy.
• Background in a loss adjusting firm, insurer or legal environment.
• Ability to work closely with solicitors, insurers and third‑party stakeholders.
• Easy access to Bristol for office work.
