About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Male SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist post‑16 provision in Harrow. The role involves supporting learners with special educational needs to develop confidence, life‑skills and independence in a structured environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to post‑16 learners.
- Deliver practical life‑skill activities such as travel training, budgeting, cooking, shopping and daily living tasks.
- Encourage communication, confidence and positive interaction.
- Assist classroom learning and facilitate off‑site community activities.
- Manage behaviour and guide learners toward positive routines.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other SEN professionals.
- Track learner progress and contribute to individual development plans.
- Create and maintain a safe, structured learning environment.
Required profile
- Patient, resilient and proactive.
- Committed to making a real difference for young adults.
- Experience in SEN, education, care or youth settings is desirable.
