Male Support Worker – Learning Disabilities Service

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Male Support Worker to join our Learning Disabilities Service at Warwick Manor and Shakespeare House in Bedford. You will help individuals with learning disabilities live independently and enjoy a meaningful daily life.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, cooking, medication administration and other daily living tasks.
• Promote independence by encouraging the development of life skills.
• Support individuals in community activities and social inclusion.
• Document care activities and report any concerns to senior staff.

Required profile

• Residence within a 10‑mile radius of Bedford.
• Prior experience in health and social care, especially with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
• Commitment to full‑time, flexible day or night shifts (up to 37.5 hours per week).

• Hourly rate £12.75–£12.95 with progression after qualifications.
