Management Accountant – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

This 12‑month fixed‑term position offers a part‑qualified Management Accountant the chance to join a respected organisation in Liverpool. Working in a fast‑paced, collaborative finance team, you will support month‑end processes and deliver insightful financial reporting to aid business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Support month‑end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Perform variance analysis and investigate significant movements in financial results.
• Help prepare statutory reports and meet external audit requirements.
• Maintain strong financial controls and suggest process improvements.
• Analyse data to identify trends and provide commercial insight.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Collaborate with finance and wider business stakeholders to deliver timely information.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and ad‑hoc financial analysis as needed.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant.
• Solid understanding of management accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical ability and high attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and confidence building relationships across the business.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience using ERP or other financial systems.
