Management Accountant – Construction

About the role

The company is a fast‑growing construction and residential development group entering a new phase of expansion. They need a Management Accountant to own month‑end close, project reporting and financial controls, providing commercial insight to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts with clear variance analysis.
• Lead the month‑end close, including accruals, pre‑payments and staff allocations.
• Maintain accurate project financial reporting – cost tracking, budget monitoring, margin analysis, WIP and CVRs.
• Manage balance‑sheet and inter‑company reconciliations.
• Oversee the fixed‑asset register, handling additions, disposals and depreciation.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns on time.
• Support bids, tenders and business planning with financial analysis.
• Assist audits by providing required documentation and evidence.
• Strengthen financial controls, reporting structures and system accuracy.

Required profile

• ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified (or part‑qualified).
• Minimum three years’ experience in management accounting, preferably in construction or project‑based environments.
• Strong month‑end, reconciliation and reporting experience.
• Analytical, organised and solutions‑focused with the ability to work at pace.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Proficiency with modern accounting systems.
