Management Accountant – Crewe

About the role

We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our fast‑growing business services organisation in Crewe. The role will deliver accurate financial reporting and provide insightful analysis to support strategic decision‑making within a PE‑backed environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Prepare journals, accruals and prepayments
• Complete balance‑sheet and bank reconciliations
• Produce and analyse P&L, balance‑sheet and cash‑flow reports
• Manage intercompany reconciliations
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Assist with cash‑flow forecasting
• Review costs and perform variance analysis
• Prepare VAT returns
• Support year‑end audit activities
• Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis and reporting

Required profile

• Experience in a Management Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant or similar role
• Solid understanding of P&L, balance‑sheet and cash‑flow reporting
• Experience with month‑end processes, journals and reconciliations
• Exposure to budgeting and forecasting
• Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• AAT, part‑qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent experience
• Flexible industry background with strong management‑accounting fundamentals
