Management Accountant (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join a dynamic finance team in Dorchester. Working closely with senior finance stakeholders, you will own key financial processes, provide commercial insight, and support strategic decision‑making in a forward‑thinking organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the month‑end close, preparing journals, accruals, pre‑payments and financial adjustments.
• Produce monthly management accounts, reporting packs and key performance indicators.
• Prepare insightful management information for board‑level reporting.
• Analyse financial performance, identify trends and comment on variances.
• Review departmental budgets, forecasts and expenditure to ensure financial control.
• Complete balance‑sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Deliver ad‑hoc reporting and commercial analysis for wider business initiatives.
• Collaborate across the finance function to improve processes and reporting capabilities.

Required profile

• Qualified or newly qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a management accounting environment.
• Strong understanding of month‑end processes, financial reporting and analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive problem‑solving approach.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills for handling complex financial data.
