Management Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our growing manufacturing business in Rochdale. You will be responsible for delivering accurate monthly accounts and supporting financial decision‑making across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts within agreed deadlines.
• Produce profit and loss statements, balance sheets and cash flow reports.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and annual financial planning.
• Analyse financial performance and investigate variances against budget.
• Produce monthly KPI reports and provide commentary for senior management.
• Partner with department managers to support informed decision‑making.
• Assist with year‑end accounts and liaise with external auditors.
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting.
• Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
• Assist with ad‑hoc financial analysis and projects as required.

Required profile

• ACCA/CIMA part‑qualified or qualified by experience.
• Previous experience as a Management Accountant with full ownership of month‑end close.
• Manufacturing experience preferable but not essential.
• Strong understanding of management accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across the business.
• High attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines.
• Proactive, commercially minded with a continuous improvement mindset.
