Management Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Management Accountant to join Nigel Wright Group in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will own the month‑end close and ensure robust financial control across a high‑volume, multi‑site environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the month‑end close process
• Prepare management accounts with supporting analysis
• Maintain full responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations and controls
• Manage the fixed asset register
• Support and coordinate the external audit process
• Handle complex reconciliations, including online sales and VAT‑related items
• Act as a key finance contact for queries and problem‑solving
• Partner with operational stakeholders to provide financial insight
• Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies
• Support wider finance team activities and continuous improvement initiatives

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or finalist
• Strong experience in management accounting and month‑end processes
• Experience in high‑volume, transactional environments (multi‑site, retail or distribution)
• Confident communicator with ability to engage across the business
• Proactive, detail‑oriented and solutions‑focused
