Management Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Management Accountant to join a values‑led organisation in Winchester. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will provide professional, thoughtful, and efficient finance support across the business and its associated entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare timely monthly and periodic management accounts and carry out month‑end close procedures.
• Monitor income streams, analyse expenditure and support scenario modelling for volumes and pricing.
• Produce financial reports for senior leadership and the board.
• Prepare annual statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors.
• Oversee the monthly payroll process, ensuring accuracy and statutory compliance.
• Maintain the general ledger, ensure correct transaction coding and manage fixed assets.
• Support compliance with Companies Act, Charity Act, VAT, Corporation Tax, payroll and Gift Aid regulations.

Required profile

• Finance professional with a solid understanding of statutory accounts and external audits.
• Strong relationship‑building skills, combining professionalism and empathy.
• Ability to stay up‑to‑date with changes in financial legislation.
• Detail‑oriented and proactive in suggesting process improvements.
