Management Accountant

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established, growing organisation in Wigan to hire an experienced Management Accountant. The role will own end‑to‑end management accounting, statutory reporting and financial control processes in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the Group’s annual report, statutory accounts and quarterly external reports, managing deadlines and audit coordination.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing, ensuring accurate P&L, balance‑sheet reconciliations and compliance.
• Produce full monthly management accounts, including accruals, pre‑payments, tax, fixed assets, leases and payroll.
• Submit VAT returns and reconcile key control accounts such as PAYE, VAT, wages and stock.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register and enforce strong ledger controls.
• Deliver variance and margin analysis, support budgeting, re‑forecasting and provide commentary for senior management.
• Analyse sales and performance data, monitor aged debtors/creditors and manage inter‑company balances.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and recommend improvements to finance systems and reporting.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
• 3–5 years of experience producing end‑to‑end management accounts.
• Proven ability to handle statutory reporting, audit coordination and VAT compliance.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in budgeting and variance analysis.
