Management Accountant

About the role

UBT is a fast‑growing SME based in Crawley seeking a Management Accountant to run the day‑to‑day finance function. You will be responsible for accurate reporting, cash‑flow management and providing insights that support senior leadership decisions. The role offers a clear path to a more strategic finance position while remaining hands‑on.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee management accounting and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.
• Streamline finance processes where appropriate.
• Manage purchase ledger and credit control functions.
• Liaise with external accounting agency to maintain smooth operations.
• Support cash‑flow management, budgeting and forecasting.
• Provide financial insights to aid business decisions and growth strategies.
• Maintain and improve financial controls and processes.
• Assist with project accounting as required.
• Offer finance‑related guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Lead IT automation projects and reporting enhancements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in management accounting and day‑to‑day financial operations.
• Strong attention to detail combined with strategic thinking.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and able to take initiative.
• Comfortable advising non‑finance colleagues on financial matters.
• Experience in purchase ledger and credit control.
• CIMA or ACCA level qualification (or equivalent).
• Interest in systems, processes and IT automation.
• Ability to work in a small, dynamic team.
