Management Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Management Accountant to join our growing finance team in Salisbury. Working closely with the Finance Director and senior leadership, you will help deliver accurate financial reporting, support commercial decisions and drive continuous improvement across the finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and related reporting.
• Post journals including accruals, pre‑payments and depreciation.
• Maintain balance‑sheet reconciliations and the fixed‑asset register.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Assist with board reporting and provide insightful financial analysis.
• Contribute to finance projects such as system improvements and business growth initiatives.
• Oversee sales and purchase ledger activities with the wider finance team.
• Assist with supplier and contract negotiations.
• Coordinate payroll processes alongside the finance team.
• Build strong relationships with non‑finance stakeholders and provide financial support.
• Coach and support junior members of the finance team.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant.
• Strong month‑end and management accounting experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA (full, part‑qualified or actively studying) is highly desirable.
• Good organisational and communication skills.

• Advanced Excel.
• Experience with Sage Accounts.
• Experience with Sage Payroll.
