Management Accountant – Leeds

About the role

We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our finance team in Leeds. In this role you will own the monthly management accounts, turning raw data into clear insights that influence business decisions. You will work closely with operational managers to explain performance, challenge spending and identify commercial opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver accurate monthly management accounts, including profit & loss statements and balance sheets.
• Lead month‑end processes such as journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Produce variance analysis against budgets, forecasts and prior periods.
• Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles.
• Partner with department heads to improve financial performance and monitor KPIs.
• Investigate discrepancies, strengthen financial controls and support audit requirements.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis for senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Current experience as a Management Accountant or in a comparable commercial finance role.
• Proven ability to produce accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Strong commercial acumen with the confidence to interpret data and influence decision‑making.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solutions‑focused attitude.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
