Management Accountant – Manufacturing Finance

About the role

We are seeking a part‑qualified Management Accountant to join a fast‑moving manufacturing business in Leeds. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will produce accurate management accounts, support budgeting and forecasting, and provide financial insight that drives commercial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis and commentary.
• Execute month‑end processes including journals, accruals, pre‑payments and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Analyse manufacturing costs, margins and profitability, maintaining standard costing and inventory accounting.
• Provide financial analysis for operational and commercial decision‑making.
• Assist with VAT returns, payroll, statutory reporting and year‑end audit activities.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and Sales to improve financial processes and controls.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified CIMA or ACCA (or equivalent) candidate.
• Experience producing management accounts, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of costing, stock accounting and financial reporting.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS).
