Management Accountant – Temporary (Life Sciences)

About the role

This temporary Management Accountant position supports the Accounting & Finance department of a medium‑sized life‑science organisation in St Albans. You will ensure accurate financial reporting and provide analysis that underpins strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial reports, guaranteeing accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting to support strategic planning.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including reconciliations.
• Provide performance analysis to internal stakeholders.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to queries.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
• Identify and implement process improvements within financial operations.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on various financial projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
• Experience in financial reporting and analysis in a professional setting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Excel skills.
