Management Accountant – up to £55k (Hybrid, Maidstone/Kent)

About the role

We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our finance team in the Maidstone/Kent area. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will lead a small AR/AP team and gain exposure to a Junior Finance Manager position, supporting strategic financial decisions in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily AP and AR operations and manage a team of three direct and two indirect reports.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, including ledger reviews, journal postings and accruals.
• Prepare cash‑flow forecasts, standard cost, sales and margin analyses, and profitability reports.
• Maintain and improve financial reporting, MI packs, board packs and product profitability models.
• Coordinate with IT, production, marketing and sales to integrate Sage with other ERP systems.
• Assist the Financial Accountant with audit preparation, bank payment authorisations and stock valuation.
• Drive continuous improvement of spreadsheets, reporting tools and internal processes.

Required profile

• CIMA or ACCA finalist (or up to four exams remaining).
• Experience as a Management Accountant handling pre‑payments, accruals, journal entries and fixed‑asset registers.
• Highly organised, self‑sufficient and able to work on initiative.
• Strong analytical mindset with a solutions‑focused attitude.
