Manager – Pumps (Engineering Leadership)

About the role

Rolls‑Royce SMR is seeking a Manager – Pumps to lead the pump technology portfolio for its Small Modular Reactor programme. You will shape strategy, guide technical direction and build a high‑performing team that delivers safe, efficient pump solutions for future nuclear power stations.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical vision for pump solutions across the SMR programme.
• Build, mentor and lead a multidisciplinary pump engineering team.
• Deliver cross‑functional product development programmes, ensuring cost, schedule and maturity targets.
• Collaborate with suppliers, regulators, senior leaders and customers to integrate robust pump solutions.
• Advance Intelligent Customer capabilities to support long‑term industry leadership.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in engineering environments.
• Programme management experience in complex hardware or regulated sectors.
• Deep knowledge of pump technology across the full lifecycle.
• Strong communication and influencing skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Relevant engineering qualification (degree or equivalent experience).
• Experience working in fast‑paced, cross‑functional teams.

• Salary £57,600‑£74,500 per year (DOE) plus performance bonus up to 12.5%.
