Manager – Small Manufacturing & Automotive Aftermarket

About the role

This is a hands‑on senior management position overseeing a specialist automotive aftermarket manufacturer in Stevenage. You will own both the day‑to‑day operations and the commercial growth of the business, driving revenue, margins and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Run the business on a daily basis, leading a small workshop team and managing stock, suppliers and workflow.
• Implement operational improvements, using simple KPIs such as revenue, gross margin, cash flow and customer service.
• Drive commercial performance by managing pricing, margins and cash flow while expanding digital sales channels (website, eBay, Amazon) and trade accounts.
• Develop existing customer relationships, ensure prompt enquiry handling and identify new sales opportunities.
• Make data‑driven commercial decisions within tight budgets.

Required profile

• Experienced in running or supporting a small business or division, preferably in manufacturing.
• Commercially sharp with an instinctive understanding of pricing, margins and cash flow.
• Hands‑on, decisive and solution‑focused, comfortable working on the shop floor.
• Adaptable and tech‑curious, eager to use automation and AI to improve admin, reporting and sales processes.
• Strong leader who can delegate, build confidence and develop a small team.

Required skills

• Familiarity with digital sales channels (website, eBay, Amazon) and basic e‑commerce tools.
