Managing Director – E‑commerce Growth

About the role

Butter & Crust is a fast‑growing weekend breakfast subscription delivering fresh baked goods across London. We are looking for a hands‑on Managing Director to own the e‑commerce engine, drive profitable growth and scale the business to the next stage.

Key responsibilities

• Scale revenue to £5 m ARR while improving CAC, LTV and overall profitability.
• Own weekly financial metrics – revenue, CAC, churn, AOV, margin and profit.
• Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts.
• Build and maintain dashboards, workflows, automations and internal tools.
• Lead ops and customer‑service teams to maintain high quality as volume grows.
• Drive major projects such as geographic expansion and new site launches.

Required profile

• Proven experience scaling e‑commerce, subscription or DTC businesses.
• Strong background in Meta ads and performance‑marketing.
• Deep understanding of CAC, LTV, churn, AOV and contribution margin.
• Experience managing agencies, marketers, operators and customer‑service teams.
• People‑focused leader with a bias toward action, testing and continuous improvement.
• Comfortable using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) daily to accelerate work.
