Managing Director – Finance & Accounting Advisory

About the role

As a Managing Director in the Finance & Accounting Advisory practice at CFGI, you will lead high‑impact engagements for FTSE‑100, mid‑cap and start‑up clients. You will act as a strategic advisor on complex accounting, transaction support and regulatory reporting matters while driving business development and thought‑leadership across the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Own and nurture senior client relationships, interacting directly with C‑level executives and auditors.
• Lead end‑to‑end engagements, from scoping and planning through execution and delivery of high‑quality technical accounting solutions.
• Provide expert guidance on IFRS, UK GAAP and US GAAP issues and ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, contributing to the firm’s growth strategy.
• Mentor and develop junior and senior professionals, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance culture.
• Contribute to firm‑wide initiatives, thought‑leadership content and training programmes on emerging accounting standards.

Required profile

• 14+ years of experience in accounting, finance or consulting, including time at a Big 4 firm.
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA) or MBA with strong accounting background.
• Proven ability to manage complex engagements and senior stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent communication, analytical and critical‑thinking skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, self‑motivated and ethical.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of IFRS.
• Strong understanding of UK GAAP.
• Proficiency with US GAAP.
