Managing Quantity Surveyor

About the role

Gold Group Ltd is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial function for a portfolio of capital water projects in the South West. Based in Exeter, you will oversee a team of Quantity Surveyors, shape commercial processes and support the growth of the business across civil engineering and infrastructure schemes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and expand a team of Quantity Surveyors.
• Provide commercial support across multiple live water infrastructure projects.
• Manage contract performance from procurement through to final account.
• Review applications for payment, compensation events and subcontractor accounts.
• Produce commercial reports, forecasts and cost variance reports (CVRs).
• Manage risk, change and cost control across the framework.
• Build strong relationships with operational teams and South West Water.
• Ensure NEC contracts are administered correctly and consistently.

Required profile

• Current Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure.
• Proven experience leading or mentoring commercial teams.
• Strong knowledge of NEC3 or NEC4 contracts.
• Experience managing subcontractors and commercial reporting.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
