Managing Quantity Surveyor – Utilities

About the role

You will join a leading UK infrastructure contractor delivering a multi‑year utilities framework in the South East. The position is based in West Sussex and operates on a hybrid model, offering stability and long‑term continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the commercial function across a portfolio of infrastructure projects in a regulated environment.
• Take overall responsibility for cost management, commercial performance and financial control.
• Ensure projects are delivered within budget and contractual requirements.
• Manage and develop a team of five Quantity Surveyors / Junior QSs, providing leadership and oversight.

Required profile

• Qualified Quantity Surveyor (QS).
• Proven experience at Managing QS or senior commercial leadership level.
• Strong commercial and cost‑management background within infrastructure projects.
• Experience in utilities, water or other regulated sectors is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage commercial teams.
• Willingness to work three days per week on‑site in West Sussex.
