Manufacturing Apprentice (Lancaster)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Manufacturing Apprentice to join our papermaking operation in Lancaster. Over a three‑year apprenticeship you will receive on‑the‑job training and study towards Level 3 Science Manufacturing Technician and papermaking qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate paper‑making machines to produce pulp.
• Carry out quality and productivity checks.
• Perform routine maintenance while adhering to safety standards.
• Work collaboratively with the production team to meet targets.
• Potentially work shift patterns after the initial training period.

Required profile

• GCSE English (grade 9‑5) – essential.
• GCSE Mathematics (grade 9‑5) – essential.
• GCSE Science (grade 9‑5) – essential.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Organisational skills and ability to work well in a team.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of machine set‑up and operation.
• Ability to conduct quality checks.
• Familiarity with routine maintenance procedures.
