Manufacturing Buyer – South Molton

About the role

We are seeking a Manufacturing Buyer to join a fast‑paced engineering environment in South Molton. You will ensure production continuity by sourcing and procuring engineering, maintenance and manufacturing spare parts and services.

Key responsibilities

• Source and procure engineering, maintenance, facility and manufacturing equipment spare parts and services.
• Respond promptly to purchase requisitions for both spot‑buy and inventory‑controlled items.
• Place purchase orders and maintain accurate records in the company ERP system.
• Expedite supplier deliveries and update delivery promise dates to keep production running.
• Monitor supplier performance against on‑time delivery targets.
• Negotiate commercial terms, including price, lead times and payment conditions.
• Identify and deliver cost‑reduction initiatives through negotiation, product substitution and standardisation.

Required profile

• Background in procurement or a similar purchasing function.
• Experience within manufacturing or an engineering environment.
• Knowledge of engineering, maintenance and factory consumable products.
• Understanding of engineering supply chains.
• Ability to commute to South Molton.

Required skills

• Proficiency with an ERP purchasing system.
