Manufacturing Engineer & CNC Programmer

About the role

We are looking for a self‑motivated Manufacturing Engineer and CNC Programmer to join our precision engineering team in Romford. The role focuses on creating CNC part programmes for multi‑axis machines and developing efficient manufacturing processes for aerospace components.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare CNC programmes for 3, 4 and 5‑axis machine tools, including tool definition, setup sheets and tooling plans.
• Validate programmes in production and manage supporting process elements such as routings, gauges, test equipment and work‑holding.
• Determine materials and tools to meet product specifications at the lowest cost.
• Identify and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce cost.
• Develop transparent cost structures and support documentation for process control.
• Collaborate with the New Product Introduction (NPI) team and ensure compliance with the quality management system.

Required profile

• Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience in a medium/large precision engineering environment, preferably aerospace.
• Proven ability to work to schedules and manage personal workload.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and stakeholder engagement awareness.

Required skills

• Proficient use of CAD/CAM software (GibbsCAM preferred).
• Experience with SOLIDWORKS for 3‑D modelling.
• Knowledge of CNC programming for multi‑axis machines.
• Understanding of precision machining processes, including milling and turning.
• Familiarity with aerospace standards such as AS9100.
