Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Derby team, delivering consulting services in utility operational technologies. The role focuses on implementing Build‑in‑Quality methodologies and supporting advanced distribution and control systems for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on Utility OT platforms such as ADMS, SCADA, DERMS, DRMS and OMS, including the GE POA system.
• Lead client‑facing meetings and produce high‑quality business and technical deliverables.
• Create and maintain Dimensional Characteristics Matrices, Process Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (PFMEA), identify key process variables and develop Control Plans.
• Apply Build‑in‑Quality tools to error‑proof processes, improve stability and capability, and integrate with Design for Manufacture and DFMEA activities.
• Utilise manufacturing data systems (e.g., RFT data, BCT Inspector) to support quality inspection and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven ability to manage stakeholders and communicate technical concepts effectively.
• Strong collaborative working style with a focus on quality and inspection.
• Good knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and quality standards.

Required skills

• Utility Operational Technologies (OT) – ADMS, SCADA, DERMS, DRMS, OMS.
• GE POA system.
• Build‑in‑Quality tools, PFMEA, Dimensional Characteristics Matrix, Control Plan.
• MES basics, Microsoft Office, basic Business Intelligence concepts.
