Manufacturing Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Financial Controller to lead financial control activities across our manufacturing operations. The role focuses on inventory and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) accounting, providing accurate reporting and actionable insight to support operational decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Own inventory and COGS accounting, ensuring accuracy and integrity of reporting.
• Manage month‑end close, balance‑sheet reconciliations and overall financial controls.
• Analyse manufacturing costs, standard costing, stock valuation and production variances.
• Partner with operations and supply‑chain teams to improve inventory accuracy and profitability.
• Lead process‑improvement initiatives across finance and manufacturing functions.
• Act as the primary contact for external auditors on inventory and manufacturing accounting matters.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent experience).
• Strong background in manufacturing finance.
• Significant experience in inventory accounting and COGS reporting.
• Experience handling external audits and maintaining robust financial controls.
• Proven business‑partnering and process‑improvement capabilities.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• ERP system experience.
• Knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
