Manufacturing Operator - Rotation Shift

About the role

Axalta is looking for a Manufacturing Operator to join its Wellingborough facility in the UK. The purpose of the position is to manufacture formulations to meet planned volumes and targets while following safety and quality standards. The operator follows agreed operating procedures, takes part in continuous improvement activities and rotates regularly across the manufacturing floor.

Key responsibilities

• Operate mixing and associated equipment
• Maintain an excellent standard of housekeeping
• Take part in daily briefings, MDI boards and Tier 1 meetings
• Take part in safety, quality and continuous improvement activities
• Follow systems and procedures safely and report issues through the appropriate channels
• Be competent across all manufacturing so that regular rotation is possible, and raise issues with team members to resolve them efficiently
• Challenge your own performance, develop your skills and support the team to deliver consistent results
• Apply continuous improvement tools in daily work and take part in improvement teams

Required profile

• Availability to work rotation shifts: 6:00am to 2:00pm and 2:00pm to 10:00pm
• GCSE/NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) or 3 years' experience in manufacturing operations
• Certified forklift truck licence
• Experience in manufacturing or process industry
• Excellent verbal communication and teamwork skills, and a desire to champion the company values

Required skills

• Numeracy: able to read and understand numbers, batch cards and interpret and manipulate data where required
• Working knowledge of maths and English is ideal
• Logical problem-solving skills
